Sierra Rose Labrie
WARSAW — A Wisconsin woman received a 4 1/2 year sentence after battering three police officers.
Sierra Rose Labrie, 20, Whitewater, Wis., was charged with battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, a level 5 felony; and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, a level 6 felony. Five additional criminal charges were all dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Labrie was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court Two on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
For battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, Kosciusko Superior Court Two Judge Torrey Bauer sentenced Labrie to three years, with two years executed and one year suspended on probation. The executed portion can either be served in the Kosciusko County Jail or the Indiana Department of Correction.
Labrie also received a 1 1/2 year sentence for domestic battery. The entirety of this sentence was suspended on probation, with both of Labrie’s charges to be served back-to-back.
In total, Labrie received a 4 1/2 year sentence, with two years executed and 2 1/2 years suspended on probation. Labrie has 226 days of jail time credit and must complete an anger management course. She was also ordered to write apology letters to all of the police officers she battered.
On June 13, 2023, Warsaw Police officers responded to a domestic complaint involving Labrie, who left the scene. A responding officer found Labrie and grabbed her left arm.
According to court documents, while being handcuffed, Labrie kicked an officer in the leg and kicked a second officer’s left arm. While a third officer attempted to place a foam helmet on Labrie for her safety, she kicked the officer’s left arm and chest area.
At sentencing, it was noted a new criminal case also involving alleged battery to police officers was filed against Labrie on Jan. 17 in Kosciusko Superior Court Three. In that case, she is charged with battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, a level 5 felony; and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and two counts of resisting law enforcement, all level 6 felonies.
Court documents state on Dec. 30, 2023, Labrie was a KCJ inmate when she was told by a jail officer to turn around so she could be placed in handcuffs. Labrie disregarded the officer’s commands and put her hands behind her in an effort to avoid being handcuffed.
While being guided out of her cell, Labrie intentionally dropped to the floor, pulling a corrections officer down with her. This caused the officer to hit his head on a wall. During the altercation, Labrie also hit an officer’s mouth and nose. Labrie refused to get up because she did not want to leave the jail block.
